Oman Aviation Services (Oman Air) Cargo Department, has recently received an appreciation communiqué from Lufthansa’s cargo management, MIDDLE EAST expressing positive reception and gratitude toward OAS resourceful cargo team and their significant performance handling efficiently 239 Tons of cargo (cars and spares parts) on board Lufthansa’s chartered flights (freighters) within the months of June - July 2006. The shipments were handled competently and without any troubles. Lufthansa positions upfront among the world’s leading airlines.
The appreciation letter was handed over to Mr. Abdullah Al Fori, Oman Aviation Services Cargo Handling Manager by Mr. Abdulla Humaid, Lufthansa’s Country Manager - Sales & logistics, Oman.
In this regard, Mr. Abdullah Al Fori said,” This is yet again a further praise from a major International Airline, this distinguished recognition, verifies the standards quality and services of the company moreover, the highly skilled and able Omani staff who are doing the utmost to execute all tasks timely and efficiently in which consequently attained the said international acknowledgment”.
He added: “Our foremost objective is to present superiority services to our esteemed customers. For this the company has implemented many procedures to bring up to date and progress performance by optimally, investing within the obtainable resources. Our aim is to establish common assurance with all airlines operating via Seeb International Airport”.
Oman Air’s Corporate Communications and Media Department stated: “As part of its incessant efforts to provide OAS customers with high-quality services in compliance with IATA’s regulations, The Cargo Department has lately implemented the issuance of bar-coded cargo label in Seeb International Airport. This establishes one standard bar coded label format to be used as mean to provide and obtain accurate consignment’s information, enabling handlers’ inimitable piece identification and level tracking”.
“Oman Air Cargo generates at present bar-coded cargo labels for its valued customers under a minimal charge, in addition to coordinating with the Information and Computer Department Oman Air, on enhancing its cargo handling system to comply with IATA'sE - Freight Program before 2010”. The department concluded.
